University Perspectives Mentoring Program

 Program Mission

University Perspectives (UP) Mentors work in collaboration with New Student & Family Programs, Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, and the University Perspective course and faculty to  work closely with first-year students  to provide an increased sense of connection and understanding of expectations that lead to academic success of first year students.

 

Program Overview  

UP Mentors  work with students enrolled in UNIV 1001 - 075 as part of the redesigned University Perspectives Class for Fall 2018. The mentor's goal is to work together to strengthen the first year experience by connecting students with an academically successful mentors who are established student leaders on the University of Arkansas campus. The mentoring programs pairs a University Perspective (UNIV1001) class with a mentor in order to assist, connect and increase retention rates for students from first year to second year. Through this relationship, the goal is to provide an increased sense of connection and understanding of expectations that lead to academic success of first year students.
